CODEGRIP Access Mode Settings

Overview

This section introduces the configurable settings available in CodeGrip Access Mode for wireless network setup and management.

Problem

Users need to configure network settings, including SSID, password, security type, and country code, but require clarity on the purpose and valid options for each setting.

Answer

Below are the detailed descriptions for each setting in CodeGrip Access Mode:

  • SSID

    • Description: This is the wireless network identifier.

    • Details: The SSID can contain up to 32 characters.

  • Password

    • Description: The passphrase required for network access.

    • Details: If the security protocol is not set to Open, the WiFi client must provide a password that exactly matches this field.

  • Secure Type

    • Description: Choose the security protocol for your wireless network connection.

    • Options include:

      • Open

      • WEP

      • WPA/WPA2

  • Country Code

    • Description: Defines regulatory settings for transmission power and available frequency channels.

    • Options:

      • EU — allows channels 1 to 13

      • USA — allows channels 1 to 11

    • Note: If operating outside these regions, you’ll need to manually set the WiFi signal parameters (Channel and Tx level) in compliance with your local radio-frequency regulations.

Additional Notes

  • Ensure the SSID matches exactly across devices (case-sensitive, up to 32 characters).

  • For Password, be aware of the security protocol in use; mismatched or absent passphrase may prevent connection.

  • When selecting Secure Type, remember:

    • Open requires no password

    • WEP/WPA/WPA2 require correct passwords and are subject to differing levels of encryption strength (WPA2 being more secure than WEP)

  • Country Code affects both permissible channel assignments and transmission power:

    • For example, in EU, you may use channel 13 which is not available under USA regulations.

    • Operating on unauthorized frequencies or power levels may violate local regulations—consult regional guidelines if unsure.
