CODEGRIP WiFi Antenna, TX Power, and Signal Level Settings

Overview:

Explanation of CODEGRIP WiFi Antenna, TX Power, and Signal Level Settings

Answer:

Antenna Options

  • Options: External, Internal
The WiFi antenna type can be selected from the dropdown menu:
    • External Antenna: May provide better connection quality and range. It can be attached to the provided SMA connector.
    • Internal Antenna: A multilayer chip antenna, ideal for simplified setup and short-distance operation.

Note:
If the selected antenna option does not match the hardware setup (e.g., the option is set to "External," but no external antenna is attached), signal strength may be significantly degraded.

TX Power

  • Options: 0 to 15
This setting adjusts the transmission power of the WiFi signal:
    • The value represents signal attenuation.
    • 0: No signal attenuation (maximum transmission power).
    • 15: Maximum signal attenuation (minimum transmission power).

Signal Level (dBm)

This field displays the WiFi signal strength in decibels relative to one milliwatt (dBm):

  • -60 dBm or better: Indicates good and reliable signal reception.
  • Below -80 dBm: Likely to cause packet loss and unreliable communication.
