CODEGRIP Programming Over WiFi

Overview

This article explains how to configure and use CODEGRIP for programming a target MCU over a WiFi network. This feature is optional and requires a WiFi license.


Instructions

1. WiFi Mode Setup

  • Connect the CODEGRIP device to your computer using a USB cable for the initial setup.
  • Open the CODEGRIP menu and select the Configuration menu item.
  • Navigate to the WiFi General tab:
    • Enable WiFi from the Interface State drop-down menu.
    • Set the Antenna Type to match your hardware setup.
    • Choose Station Mode from the WiFi Mode drop-down menu.

2. WiFi Network Setup

  • Go to the WiFi Mode tab and configure the following:
    • SSID: Enter your WiFi network name.
    • Password: Enter the password for your WiFi network.
    • Security Type: Select the appropriate security type:
      • Open
      • WEP
      • WPA/WPA2
  • Click the STORE CONFIGURATION button.
  • A pop-up will notify you that the CODEGRIP device will restart. Click OK to proceed.

3. Connect to CODEGRIP Over WiFi

  • After the restart, wait for the ACTIVITY LED to stop blinking, indicating that the device is ready.
  • Open the CODEGRIP menu and select the Scanning menu item.
  • Click SCAN DEVICES to list available CODEGRIP devices.
  • Locate your CODEGRIP device by its serial number (printed on the bottom of the device) and click the WiFi Link button.
  • The WiFi Link indicator will turn yellow upon a successful connection.

Additional Notes
   Ensure your WiFi license is activated before attempting to use this feature.
