Roadmap update – PIC32 compilers will have FreeRTOS support
Posted by Lana Vulic on 28 June 2017 02:32 PM

What will the new release of the PIC32 compilers bring?

Following in the footsteps of the ARM compilers, the PIC32 compilers are going to have support for FreeRTOS. Your compilers will be organized better than a well-behaved bee hive. Arrange all your tasks effectively and systematically.

You already know about our plan to have all the compilers merged with the Visual TFT software. Well, now it’s the PIC32 compilers turn to get this update. Switch from compiler mode to Visual TFT with one button. Just press F12 and you are in a new environment. Drag and drop visual elements, and the compiler will generate the code in the background.

PIC32 compilers release date

We have changed the release date of the PIC32 compilers from July 13 to July 18. From now on all our software releases will be scheduled for a Tuesday.

ARM and PIC compilers Roadmap

We have also updated the ARM and PIC compilers Roadmap pages. So, take a look what is coming your way this year regarding those two.

For more information about the PIC32 compilers, see the Roadmap page.

Manometer 2 click – super small pressure sensor
Posted by Lana Vulic on 28 June 2017 01:33 PM

The manometer showed ten degrees.” says Jules Verne is his famous book Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea. Would the great visionary be surprised to see how small the pressure sensor on our new click board™ is? Manometer 2 click has just been released in the shop.

Manometer 2 click

Manometer 2 click carries the MS5525DSO-SB001GS digital pressure sensor, based on leading MEMS technology. The click is designed to run on a 3.3V power supply. It communicates with the target microcontroller over I2C or SPI interface.

Use it to get accurate pressure readings within a few seconds.

A digital manometer like this one can help you detect leaks, or problem is air conditioning systems, or just to measure the depth of water in a tank.

For more information about the Manometer 2 click, see the product page.

ATA6563 click – high speed CAN transceiver
Posted by Lana Vulic on 28 June 2017 09:15 AM

CAN or Controlled Area Network was introduced by Bosch in the 80s. It’s a serial bus for communication of electrical components inside a vehicle. The click we have today, ATA6563 click, is a high-speed CAN transceiver.

ATA6563 click

ATA6563 click carries the ATA6563 high-speed CAN transceiver. The click is designed to run on a 5V power supply. Use the VIO SEL jumper for selecting the 3.3V or 5V logic level.

It communicates with the target microcontroller over UART interface, with additional functionality provided by the AN pin on the mikroBUS™ line.

The transceiver is designed for high-speed (up to 5 Mbps) CAN applications in the automotive industry, providing differential transmit and receive capability to (a microcontroller with) a CAN protocol controller.

CAN related click boards™

You might also want to check out some of our other CAN related click boards™:

CAN Isolator click – provides isolated CAN communication. It carries the ADM3053 signal and power isolated CAN transceiver with an integrated isolated DC-to-DC converter.

MCP2542 click – a click board™ with a Microchip CAN FD Transceiver with Wake-Up Pattern. The physical layer is compliant with CAN 2.0 and CAN with Flexible Data-Rate (CAN FD).

For more information about the click, visit the product page.
